She founded Uganda's first all-woman parliamentary caucus, then went on to lead Oxfam International and UNAIDS.
Born in Uganda in 1959, Winnie Byanyima served as a member of parliament, created an all-woman parliamentary caucus, and was the founding leader of the Forum for Women in Democracy, a Ugandan national organisation.
