Born in 1942, Timothy Wangusa is a Ugandan poet and novelist.
He chaired the Uganda Writers Association and was founding president of the International PEN Uganda Centre. His novel Upon This Mountain (1989) follows Mwambu, a boy determined to touch heaven, into adulthood.
