Goretti Kyomuhendo is a Ugandan novelist and the founding director of the African Writers Trust.
Her novels include The First Daughter (1996), Secrets No More (1999) — which won the Uganda National Literary Award for Best Novel — Waiting (2007), Whispers from Vera (2023) and Promises (2025). She was the first Ugandan woman to receive an International Writing Program fellowship at the University of Iowa.
